Program description This is a personal safety / emergency check-in text program. Enrolled family members may receive SMS messages such as a pre-trip heads-up and overdue alerts with planned route, timing, and status information when Herb may be late returning from a solo desert expedition.

Eligibility and consent Only people who have agreed to receive Program texts (verbal yes during enrollment, followed by a confirmation text) are enrolled. Cold outreach to people who have not opted in is not part of this Program.

Message frequency Up to about 1 message per week.
